Hey👋I'm Jessica Simon, Author
Jessica Simon is a new author, visual artist, and global collaborator whose recent work is rooted in compassion and cultural connection. Jessica’s creative journey has taken her beyond the studio into the hearts and lives of those who inspire her the most.
In 2021, during the solitude of the pandemic, what started as deception on-line, turned into a collaborative art project with a group of carefully selected West Africans. Hearing their stories and watching the videos that they sent, Jessica felt she had to convey the underlying messages to “her side” of the world. The project turned into a profound exploration of resilience and humanity. Her debut memoir, “Hello Baby” was born from these connections, shedding light on the stories of everyday people navigating the complexities of life in modern-day Africa – with joy, dignity, and hope.

Hello Baby
“I will not die an unlived life . . .” These words struck a chord deep within Jessica Simon’s heart. As a retired teacher, she was looking for a way to make a difference in today’s fast-paced world. She wanted to live life to the fullest in the third trimester of her life.
“Hello Baby” is a bold journey exemplifying resilience, creativity, and human connection. Jessica’s debut work is inspired by her personal experiences and unique artistic collaborations with individuals in West Africa. Through video chats and sharing photographs, she weaves her own changing life story with the lives of the participants in her project. This enriches her own life, making her feel loved and valued in a world where older members of society are often overlooked and marginalized.
